I snapped this photo on top of Squaw Peak in Phoenix. I didn't have many friends when I first moved to Arizona so I did much of my exploring alone. Skateboarding will always come first for me but I've also always maintained the importance of exploration. Go outside. Try new things. Share the experience with someone. It's humbling and rewarding.
This picture is from another one of my hikes. It was one of my early and fond memories of AZ. I went with Ryan Reyes, his wife Anissa, and her band member Caleb. It was such a sick day, we didn't skate at all. We played smash brothers, Anissa made some bomb nachos for all of us and we hit Papago Park. Simple.
This is one of Anissa from that day at Papago Park. I've been hyped on her since I first met her out here. She's down to earth, rules at cooking all things music. One of the coolest chicks I've ever met for sure.
Eric Doswell slidin' at the base of "A" mountain in Tempe. If you don't know who he is check out the new video from Pyramid Country called "Distant Mind Terrain." Eric's one of my favorite skaters and I'm pysched I know that crazy ass dude.
Wow! Another photo on top of a mountain. Haha. Here's Michael Kryger and his brother atop South Mountain. I personally don't think I'll ever get sick of seeing a sun set behind the mountains. I feel like I can collect myself and all of my thoughts up there. The scenery out here is what keeps me sane. That and all of the true friends I've made over time. These moments make me appreciate the little shit so much more.
Eric Guzman is the dude. I love this fucker so much. This photo is from Tempe Halloween two years ago. If you're reading this and you've never been to one you should try to visit Arizona during late October. The weather is amazing, you can skate pretty much whenever you want and at the end of the month you have Tempe Halloween to look forward to. I get psyched when everyone is together like that having a good ass time.
Lastly, one of my favorite photos of all time. Ryan Reyes holding Preston Harpers pro board!! This was another one of those amazing times where everyone was together. No bullshit just a good time and cause. The graphic was designed by his brother Cameron Harper which just makes it even better. It was just a very special time. Preston really deserved it cause he's fucked on a skateboard and I'm psyched I was able to witness him going pro.
